For anyone who was wondering about why they couldn’t access the site while we were in California… there was a power outage and the servers didn’t boot back up like they should have afterwards.
At least I can rest peacefully knowing that it was nature, not Linux, that took us offline.

What a great trip we had to California visiting family! Thanks to everyone that was involved. We hope that we can do it again soon.
Sure is nice to have such a wonderful wife who can take care of a screaming baby and bawling husband… very sick last night and today I’m just fighting off the aftermath. Must have been the flu or something.

Had a nice trip outside the house today to visit a Longs store and help out with some training on new software. Of course, the managers are flabbergasted that we have to do this in the middle of December, but what can I do but shrug my shoulders? (It’s not my fault, really) Other than that they were very pleasant and I usually enjoy meeting with the other field techs anyway.
Driving across the 405 and 5 bridges is always a pleasure too. I don’t know if I could ever bring myself to leave this part of the country.
We’re going on our first full week of trying to get Johnathan to sleep in his own crib. My gut is quite against it because I think it’s goes against our animal instinct to want to “pile” together with our family. Society tells me that it is best — so I’ll remain an extreme skeptic and observe.
