ceckas.org

We’ll have some new features coming real soon! I just won some free hosting at my favorite webhost (http://www.hostrocket.com) and I plan on moving the domain over to them. The site will be a webportal for anyone even semi-related to the Cecka family. I’ll list anyones email addresses if they ask, but otherwise will only be linking into sites. A family tree will be in the-works!

Doc update

Without going into too much detail, I went in for a referral checkup today with a surgeon and we still don’t really know what my problem it. I have this pain that is very unusual to me and so far two doctors can’t completely explain it, although they’ve ruled out some of the big stuff. Now we go back to things like an out-of-control pinched nerve in my back or something. Oh well, at least I can mow the lawn and now worry about my intestines falling out of me! On a side note – prostate exams suck. I hope I don’t need another one of those for twenty years at least!

All Boy

I love every part of having a boy.
Djai loves to play rough. I pick him up and throw him on the ground, and then I body slam him. I crack myself up, I’m laughing while writing this. No, I don’t really throw and slam him, it’s much more gentle and controlled than that… with pillows and such. I’ll have to see if I can talk Ben into filming it one time. Our pretend wrestle makes him squeal in delight and amusement. He’s all boy. And he’s my little monster. I make scary growl noises and monster face and the kid finds it absolutely hilarious. I can’t wait until he does it back.
He paid attention to a train for the first time today at my Dad’s house. I tried to get him to look at one before and he was too young to focus. Today his eyes were going from side to side like a typewriter trying to follow all the box cars. He has been showing an interest in motor vehicles lately and tries to compete with the noise of the trucks when we walk. G’G'ma & G’G'pa Cecka got him a box set of books all about cars, boats, planes and such. It’s fun to tell him about these things he is seeing, and show him pictures and talk about it again at before-bed-story-time. I wonder if he is making a connection. How long does memory last at 9 months? I can’t believe his first year will be over in 3 months. Oh crisis. That is another blog for another day. This one has been rather long and I am ready for Bed.

Winter Barbecue

Not much for Winter up here anymore, but hopefully the wet season comes back in nicely. It’s been nice and warm for the most part. It’s been nice having my dad here, and Erinn too. He’ll be leaving tomorrow on a bus back to Lake Forest. Soon though, very soon, they will both be joining our table once again as they make a final journey into Washington.

Tonight we had a nice little neighborhood barbecue in celebration of the day. Shae and I will celebrate for anything… any old excuse will do. Life is just too short to take it all seriously all the time. How am I supposed to know what to take seriously anymore anyways?

Updates

Today I fixed a few menu errors and modified all the standard error pages to fit with the site theme. WordPress is really great for that I think. I’m very happy with how it manages pages on top of just the journal.

Clark update

Well, it looks like I will be Ok with school for the time being. Funding was a little messy but it worked out just fine I think. It’s going to be another rough quarter with a 7am math class mon-fri but I think that the debate team will really be fun. There’s a couple of tournaments that will hopefully not scare me too much!
