End of the year

Tuesday, May 17th, 2005 by Ben

It’s nice to see the end of the year coming so quickly (school year). I’ve survived 3 quarters at Clark and worked full-time through all of it. I’m pretty exhausted from it and although I don’t really want to stop the movement, I’ll be taking the summer off. We’re still hoping to move this summer so that will take some extra time for sure. I don’t think I could do it while doing classes simultaneously.

2004 Year of the Monkey

Friday, May 6th, 2005 by Shae

People born in the Year of the Monkey are the erratic geniuses of the cycle. Clever, skillful, and flexible, they are remarkably inventive and original and can solve the most difficult problems with ease. There are few fields in which Monkey people wouldn’t be successful but they have a disconcerting habit of being too agreeable. They want to do things now, and if they cannot get started immediately, they become discouraged and sometimes leave their projects. Although good at making decisions, they tend to look down on others. Having common sense, Monkey people have a deep desire for knowledge and have excellent memories. Monkey people are strong willed but their anger cools quickly. They are most compatible with the Dragon and Rat.

Sick again

Wednesday, May 4th, 2005 by Ben

Well I’m definitely getting sick now. Finally after a week of Djai and Shae getting hit with it too. I feel like I’m going to lose my voice, which is great for my profession and even better for debating. Hopefully it passes before next weekend.

I have the next batch of pictures to put on the server but the camera messed up and started taking them at 1200×1600 instead of the normal 1024×768. Thus, I can’t get them to generate thumbnails in the normal fashion and again can’t get them into the gallery. I’ll work on this more tomorrow.

All done

The tournament this weekend was great. Our team did really well, and I’m very happy with my own performance as well. My teammate Rachel and I tied for 10th speaker in the elimination rounds, and we also received an award for breaking into the finals. She has graciously allowed me full custody of the plaque. She got a bigger one for her excellent peotry so I didn’t argue too much.

Anyway, here it is:

We may have a small informal tournament in a few weeks at Mt. Hood. I’m looking forward to it and will hopefully try some of the other individual events.
