Waves

Wednesday, June 29th, 2005 by Shae

I find my way into every zip-lock bag. I am in your back packs and between your toes, under your fingernails and up your nose. I am in your mouth and in your hair… heck, I’m just about everywhere! What am I?

Man that took a long time to get up here. Now we only have a few days left of June and then we’ll have another batch with the birthday pics as well!

Multnomah

Sunday, June 26th, 2005 by Ben

Today we visited Multnomah Falls and took Djai up to the top for the very first time. Man that was a good workout on my legs having him strapped to me! He slept the entire way up and then was quite playful on the way down, wanting to stop and pull at all the plants on the trail. We’re all going to sleep well tonight!

Natural Born Killers

Friday, June 24th, 2005 by Ben

Shae has been trying to get me to watch Natural Born Killers for weeks now, and tonight she finally rented it.

Just by the people who had told me about how great it was over the years, I already expected it be a decent and creative film. But I had no idea how great. Seriously, probably one of the best movies I’ve seen. Ever. Furthermore, it’s relevance is just as strong today and it applies very much to what is going on every day around our planet. I don’t want to go into it too much for anyone who hasn’t seen it, but trust me.

We will be owning a copy of this by next week.

Night Terrors?

Thursday, June 23rd, 2005 by Shae

It is 2:20 am and I have just been up with a Djai that wrapped both arms around my neck so tightly I could hardly get him to let go to check him over. When I did loosen his grip he’d climb back up me and try to hit and bite me. I had no Idea what to do. I tried letting him cry it out the first time he did this, at 1:00 am, with no luck. And now after thirty minutes of TLC, a dropperfull and a half of infant’s tylenol, a new diaper, four ounces of milk and a graham cracker, he seems to be sleeping peacefully. I can’t wait ’til he can talk. I still don’t know what was wrong.
G’night.

Summer Solstice

Wednesday, June 22nd, 2005 by Ben

Yesterday we all went down to Esther Short Park for a Bavarian celebration of the Summer Solstice. We had a great time listening to the music and watching the dancers. The biggest kick I got though was when the mayor, Royce Pollard, walked by where I was sitting down reading. I really wanted to talk to him but I just couldn’t muster up the courage. Maybe next time.
