We made it into the paper, again!
The Clark College Speech and Debate Team placed first among community colleges attending the Second Annual Dugaw-Iverson Invitational Forensics Tournament held at the University of Portland Dec. 3-4. The team also placed second among all 17 schools in attendance. Several individuals also received awards:
Cascade Park
Jacob Greer took first place in Communication Analysis, third place in Editorial Commentary and was a finalist in Extemporaneous Speaking. In Parliamentary Debates, he took second place in Top Junior Debate Speaker.
West Hazel Dell
Ben Cecka was a finalist in After Dinner Speaking; in Parliamentary Debates, he took fourth place in Top Novice Debate Speaker and first place in Novice Parliamentary Debate.
Northeast Hazel Dell
Ana Fonokalafi was a finalist in Informative Speaking.
Van Mall
Zach Tindell took third place in Informative Speaking and First place in Novice Parliamentary Debate.
Battle Ground
Kristina Stricker was a finalist in Editorial Commentary.
Gloria Scheel was a finalist in Persuasive Speaking and took third place in Junior Parliamentary Debate.
Edgewood Park
Nik Vaughn took first place in Novice Parliamentary Debate and eighth place in Top Novice Debate Speaker.
Bennington
Andrew Crane took first place in Novice Parliamentary Debate and ninth place in Top Novice Debate Speaker.
Burton/Evergreen
George Throop took third place in Junior Parliamentary Debate.
