Ceckas.org

Following suite with the Broduer family I decided it was high time to just break down and register a domain. It’s still a wierd situation with masking/forwarding because the server is being run by yours truly… but in the long run it only makes sense. As soon as I can get a firm understanding of setting up my local DNS properly I’ll be in good shape.

Good Book

I got a great new book last week titled the Linux Administration Handbook. It covers everything that I need to know to truly host my own domain here in the office. I’m not going to do it anytime soon until I really understand whats going on.

How does ceckas.org sound? I would probably then turn a subdomain into our personal journal and then have the main site for general information about the entire Cecka family. Maybe even a family tree? I would also then like to offer email forwarding to everyone that wants it. Just some ideas.

Photos

We went ahead and uploaded all the photos we had so far for the month. 414 to be exact.

Photos sent up from Dad C. can be found here.

Downtime explained

For anyone who was wondering about why they couldn’t access the site while we were in California… there was a power outage and the servers didn’t boot back up like they should have afterwards.

At least I can rest peacefully knowing that it was nature, not Linux, that took us offline.

On behalf of the Cecka’s in Vancouver, we would like to welcome the Broduers to the ‘Net. Their link can be found under “links” in our menu.

November Album

The next album is up with nearly 500 new images. Enjoy… Click here.

To see all the new changes to the gallery (pretty minor) you may need to clear your browser cache as it is heavily relied upon for the thumbnails.

Comments

Ok – after much loss of hair I found a few more small problems with the commenting area of the journal. They are fixed now and shouldn’t come up again. If anybody has any problems then please email us or use the contact page.
